Most of the people who visit Ocean Mist forget they even have a car, or what day it is, until it's time to leave. Located on the edge of town, our Nova Scotia cottages are within a five minute walk of all the necessities. Spend your days on Crescent Beach relaxing in the sun. Explore picturesque Lockeport. Beachcomb for sea glass, shells and driftwood. Spend hours with your children at the amazing Marine Theme Playground located in Seacaps Memorial Park.
If day trips interest you, then the location of our six oceanfront cottages will be perfect. Ocean Mist Cottages are situated in the heart of the Lighthouse Route and within a thirty minute drive of the historic Town of Shelburne as well as Keji Seaside Adjunct. Lockeport is only an hour and fifteen minutes from Yarmouth ( and the Cat Ferry) and slightly more from Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Rest assured, you'll find the peace, tranquility and comfort of our cottages inviting when you return at the end of your day.
Six Fully Equipped Oceanfront Cottages
Ocean Mist Cottages offer fully equipped, two bedroom housekeeping units with all the comforts of home but without the distractions. Located just fifty feet from the white sands of Crescent beach, providing a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean surf and Gull Rock Lighthouse. Each cottage has a large covered verandah complete with deck chairs and gas BBQ and a small grassy front yard with picnic table and firepit for those intimate family gatherings. Tastefully decorated in nautical themes with unique names such as "Carter's Light", "Lobster Pot" and the "Crows Nest". The cottages have cathedral ceilings with solid pine woodwork and furnishings. Each has a well stocked kitchen and four piece bath. Recent additions include sofabeds in the Gull Rock and Wheelhouse cottages and a queen bed to the Anchorage. These cottages are equipped to handle a family of six. Cable TV, DVD, VCR and wireless internet available in most units. All towels and linens provided.
The Crescent Beach Centre ( VIC, C@P site and resource for festivals and events) is a five minute walk across the beach. (Although it usually takes 20 minutes as you search for sand dollars, frolic in the waves and watch the shorebirds play.) If you're heading to the government wharf, Freddy's or Col'Locke's Beach in the south end, be sure to view the Locke Family Heritage Streetscape. (Also a five minute walk)
Whether you spend your days walking barefoot on the beach , wading or swimming , taking pictures of the beautiful scenery, listening to yarns at the local wharves, or curling up with a good book or movie in front of your propane fireplace, we’re sure you'll enjoy your stay at Ocean Mist.
